UFCW Local 791 awards 16 scholarships annually to union members and/or the sons and daughters of Local 791 members who apply. Four of the scholarships are awarded for academic achievement. The Philip T. Chancholo Memorial Scholarship will be awarded for the best essay on “What Organized Labor Means to Me.” The remaining scholarships are selected by lottery. Applications for scholarships are made available through your union steward usually in March. The Executive Board selects winners of the scholarships in May.
