Stoughton Paraprofessionals Ratify a New Contract

After an intense three-year struggle, Stoughton Paraprofessionals voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new three year contract on May 14, 2011.   The contract covers wages, benefits and working conditions for approximately 100 workers employed in the Town of Stoughton, Massachusetts School District. The Paraprofessionals voted to join Local 791 in 2007.

The newly ratified contract puts an end to a very long and difficult round of negotiations between Local 791’s negotiating committee and the bargaining committee for the Stoughton School District that began in May 2008.

Contract books were mailed out to all Paraprofessionals last week.

Congratulations to the Stoughton Paraprofessionals on their new contact and are honored to have them as a part of the Local 791 family.

Special thanks go out to Cindy Brown and Mae-Beth Robbins for all of their hard work throughout negotiations and keeping the Local informed on issues and concerns for all of the Paraprofessionals. Without their dedicated service this contract would have been a lot more difficult.
